All 50 RAM Trucks Australia dealers are open for sales and service during these unprecedented times, with many going above and beyond to meet customer needs in a responsible manner.

One prime example is Davison RAM in Mildura, Victoria, who went to great lengths to assist a new interstate customer in securing the exact model they wanted, by delivering a V8 Hemi RAM 1500 Laramie in Patriot Blue to the border town of Yamba, SA, for a handover like no other.

“With restrictions in place we called the Berri police station in South Australia, close the Victoria border, to determine the process,” said Reuben Davison, Davison RAM General Sales Manager.

“Following their suggestions and nationally recognised contactless customer experience in dealerships during this COVID-19 crisis, we completed a disinfectant deep clean of the truck at the dealership and then drove 1.5 hours on the Friday before Anzac Day to Yamba, SA. We arrived at 5pm at the fruit fly quarantine zone at the border which the police oversee to meet the customer, who had driven three hours from Adelaide.

“All the paperwork, 7-day permits and funds had been dealt with electronically, so we completed the handover following a secondary disinfectant clean of the truck while observing the social distancing requirements – all under the gaze of the police! The only tricky bit was demonstrating the set-up of the car remotely, but we met that challenge via a couple of phone calls.”

Needless to say, the customer was over-the-moon: “Davison RAM went above and beyond, and it was certainly a very different delivery process to what I’ve been used to in the past,” he said.

RAM customers, meanwhile, continue to vote with their feet and support local Australian manufacturing – RAM Trucks Australia was one of just two brands that saw positive increases in sales during April, up 14.1% compared with April 2019.

“We’re proud of how our entire dealer network is adapting to these challenging times to support customers,” says Jeff Barber, National Manager, RAM Trucks Australia.

“RAM Trucks Australia is the world’s only factory-authorised RHD manufacturer of full-size RAM Trucks and, as a result, we’re a significant source of local employment in automotive design and engineering. It’s critical we’re also able to continue supporting the Australian component companies that keep our factory supplied with parts.”

RAM Trucks Australia began re-manufacturing full-size, left-hand drive trucks into right-hand drive vehicles in late 2015, before they went on sale in early 2016. The volume selling 1500 full-size truck came on stream in July 2018.

With a max braked towing capacity of up to 4.5 tonnes for the RAM 1500 full-size truck, every RAM is built for towing, making the undoubted swing towards holidaying at home even easier.

The RAM range starts at $79,950 driveaway and some businesses could be eligible for the Government’s instant asset write-off scheme. Every RAM is backed by a three year/100,000km warranty with Roadside Assistance, and requires a service every 12 months or 12,000km.

Fully factory-supported and backed by a 50-strong RAM dealer network across Australia and 13 in New Zealand, the RAM range sets new benchmarks for performance and ability in the full-size truck segment.
